Clearly with the pandemic over, James Corden is needing more help than ever getting to work, this time enlisting Camila Cabello for the latest "Carpool Karaoke" on "The Late Late Show."

While the segment is usually an opportunity to learn a lot about his guest rider, we actually picked up a very interesting detail about James along the ride this time. He has a secret trick he applies to the salsa that is so ludicrous, it actually works.

As he explained it to Camila, the trick is for your face to look like it's started and surprised at what your body's doing. Honestly, we could have watched him and Camila practicing this technique all day.

Camila proved a great carpool buddy, with a great sense of humor and candor about her life. She opened up about her family's early struggles immigrating to the United States. She and her mother came with nothing but what they could carry while her father literally swam across a river to get here.

And yet, despite his dedication, Camila said she couldn't bring herself to invite Dad to her 25th birthday party, even though her mom is invited. James couldn't understand it, but it makes perfect sense to Camila.

She can't have her dad around while she "throws this ass in a circle." But Mom is allowed to come because "she encourages me to throw this ass in a circle."

Surprisingly, Camila made her biggest confession before the lie detector even got into the car, revealing what she said was the real reason she auditioned for "The X Factor" a decade ago.

Waffling between it and "The Voice," she concluded that One Direction would most likely appear on Simon Cowell's show, since he formed them in the UK version of the same show.

Obviously, then, Harry Styles would meet her and be so impressed with her amazing vocal talent that they would wind up falling in love. If this sounds weird, remember she was 15 years old -- so in that regard, the logic is flawless.

The success of One Direction is even the main reason she agreed to be formed into a group of her own on the show, joining Fifth Harmony.

Surprisingly, once he had her strapped down, James didn't ask her anything about her former bandmates, with whom she said she holds no ill will, though she didn't love five voices fighting for creative control.

He did put her on the spot on whether or not current collaborator Ed Sheeran or Harry Styles makes better music. But Camila didn't hesitate to answer that question, passing the test with flying colors.

The three lies the machine caught her on was when she said she wasn't the best looking person in the car -- hilariously used to calibrate the machine -- which was her favorite talk show to appear on, and when she said she hadn't slid into anyone's DMs in a romantic sense.

The journey ended with Camila revealing her go-to karaoke song, which admittedly is an uptempo blast to sing at the top of your lungs, even if you can't sing at all. Showers, karaoke bars, in the car, we feel you, Camila!

Drew Barrymore made an indelible impact on movie audiences when she debuted opposite an animatronic alien in the 1982 blockbuster "E.T." Now set to celebrate its 40th anniversary, Drew got the surprise of her life when her on-screen mom dropped by her talk show.

The reaction on Drew's face when she was reading the teleprompter and introducing Dee Wallace was already everything, but the sheer joy both women shared in being together again was beautiful to watch.

Drew couldn't stop beaming as Dee talked about what it was like for her working with this precocious and adorable 7-year-old on the set of a major motion picture directed by Steven Spielberg. She also proved that sometimes a 7-year-old's memory may not be the most accurate.

As much fun as it was just seeing the women reconnect and reminisce, we think we loved it even more when Drew would try to share a story from what she remembered making the iconic film, and Dee would be right there with a quick correction.

Then, just like the rest of us, Drew was enraptured as Dee recalled the story the way she remembered it -- including one incredibly sweet detail that Spielberg did to help Drew stay in the moment and in character.

It's already known that the film was shot in chronological order -- a rarity in Hollywood productions -- so that they could get the most authentic emotional reactions from their young stars. But Spielberg took it a step forward in the most compassionate way.

After sharing the infamous story about Spielberg jumping onto one of the E.T. props to save it when it caught fire, Drew was talking about her experiences with them, playing it cool and telling her audience, "I saw the wires, I knew the deal."

Well, right there, Dee shut her down. "Do not believe that for a moment!" she turned and told the audience.

"They would put E.T. in a corner when he wasn’t working, and we found Drew and she’s over there just talking to him," Dee said. "And from that time on, Steven had two guys on E.T. at all times so that any time you went over to talk to him his eyes could work and his head could go up and down and he could respond to you."

Talk about going the extra mile to ensure that your young, impressionable star would still believe in the magic of the character. In fact, Drew apparently bought into E.T. being as much a living and breathing character as she and Dee, based on another story Dee shared.

Again, Drew was recalling the dramatic E.T. death scene when she said that it was Steven who got her to cry so that she could show the proper emotion for the moment. Dee, though, remembered it a different way.

"Being the mother than I am with all the kids that I work with, you were on an adjoining sound stage and I went over and I said, ‘Okay, Drew, now we’re gonna go shoot the scene where E.T.’s dying. But you know he’s not really dying, sweetheart. He’s acting, just like we are, okay?’" Dee shared.

"And you looked at me and said, “I know, Dee, do you think I’m stupid?’" she continued, as Drew was dying laughing, clearing not remembering this. "So I picked you up, we walked into the set, you took one look at E.T. and [started crying], ‘Ah, he’s dying, Dee, he’s dying!'"

The whole exchange between the two women was so sweet and genuine. There is so much love and admiration between them for what they've accomplished in their careers, and how loving Dee was to a young Drew on that busy film set.

Julia Roberts will star in the upcoming romantic comedy "Ticket to Paradise," set to release in October. She became an icon on the rom-com, so why are they so few and far between now?

One might assume that as she progressed as an actress and began to be taken more seriously, Roberts turned her nose up at these types of fluffy films, but that's not the case at all. In fact, she suggested in a new interview for New York Times Magazine that she never stopped reading scripts for them.

Therein, though, lies the problem.

Many people dismiss romantic comedies, saying that they all follow a very generic formula with painfully familiar beats and cliché emotions on display. Hallmark has built an entire Christmas season around these tropes.

"People sometimes misconstrue the amount of time that’s gone by that I haven’t done a romantic comedy as my not wanting to do one," Roberts told NYTM. Instead, she said, it all came down to the scripts she was seeing.

"If I had read something that I thought was that 'Notting Hill' level of writing or 'My Best Friend’s Wedding' level of madcap fun, I would do it," she said. "They didn’t exist until this movie that I just did that Ol Parker wrote and directed," Roberts added, referencing "Ticket to Paradise."

Even better, Roberts said that in the case of this particular movie, she could only imagine doing it opposite frequent co-star George Clooney -- and apparently he felt the same way. As for stepping back into that romcom mindset, Roberts loved it.

"I love to laugh and be funny," she explained. "You get into that mode of those endorphins going off when you’re clever and people going, ‘Oh!’ Then that becomes this automatic thing where you’re always thinking in terms of creating fun."

"It’s a joy to play in that sandbox," she continued. "It has been a long time."

Roberts admitted that over these past two decades, there has also been another factor in making her so choosy over scripts. It was her responsibilities as a parent, which she said "raises the bar even more" and even turns it into math!

"It’s not only, Is this material good? It’s also the math equation of my husband’s work schedule and the kids’ school schedule and summer vacation," she said.

Roberts' emphasis on family and on her kids, which she says she give her "a sense of great pride," has certainly paid off. During her appearance on "The Late Show" Monday night, she and Stephen Colbert talked about long marriages, with Roberts celebrating 20 years and Colbert 28.

For fun, they decided to share in unison what they thought the secret to a strong marriage was, and their answers were not the same. On the count of three, they blurted out what they thought it was.

Colbert shouted," Apologies!" But Roberts' answer was a little more unexpected. "Kissing," she said.

"Well, I would like to apologize to my wife for not saying 'kissing,'" Colbert replied.

They then agreed that maybe it's about apologizing and then enjoying the makeup -- ahem -- kissing.
